Toffee Nut Bars
Ingredients
for crust |

| 0.5 cup | shortening |
| 1 cup | flour |
| 0.5 cup | brown sugar |
for topping |

| 2 | eggs |
| 1 tsp | vanilla |
| 1 tsp | baking powder |
| 1 cup | shredded coconut |
| 1 cup | brown sugar |
| 2 tbsp | flour |
| 0.5 tsp | salt |
| 1 cup | almonds (or other nuts) |
Steps
1) Mix shortening and 1/2 cup brown sugar
2) Add 1 cup flour and mix until blended
3) Press into bottom of ungreased 9x13 pan
4) Bake for 10 minutes at 350
5) Beats eggs well and then mix in 1 cup brown sugar and vanilla
6) Add flour, baking powder, and salt and mix until blended
7) Add coconut and nuts and mix until blended
8) Spread over baked crust
9) Return to oven & bake for 25 more minutes at 350
10) Cool and cut
